A few days back, I observed incredible thing when I was watching Australian Open Final between Murry and Djokovic. A single umpire was controlling more than 20 thousand people by merely saying “silence”. Not even please!
I wonder how well mannered and disciplined those people were. For all the rational people who are wondering what the hell I am talking about. I am talking about the environment of lecture-theater and protest culture in Pakistan. Of course, there was no involvement of CIA or ISI in silencing those people. It was just observation of moral ethics. I have another example to quote.
Quaid-e-azam (founder of Pakistan ) was scheduled to give a speech and while he was coming in his car towards the arena. He observed that people were making noise, dancing and enjoying like party’s going on. He really got upset at this. He ordered to stop the car, got out and said two words and left the arena without any speech. Guess what those two words were!! Those words were “LEARN MANNERS”
I could never understand why we don’t regard our teachers while they continuously shout at us “silence please”. I wonder what type of language we understand. Is this the attitude of the society as a whole, or is it root level training we are lacking in that begins from our home??? I wonder why people would damage their fellow being’s property or burn buses or tires in a protest. Are we uncivilized or we are civilized but it’s just frustration. You can decide better.
Nevertheless, a nation is known by his manners, discipline and moral values. I admit that we are a developing country, it will take time to develop but we should at-least take initiative to start building our attitude, behavior, moral values and manners first. So that one day we may be silenced by a single call of silence please and known as a great nation. Now it’s up to you whether we want to be a great nation or just a mob!!
